Now that the leaves are fluttering down to the ground and there’s often a distinct nip in the air, my thoughts have turned to Autumnal knitwear. Nothing like feeling enveloped in soft, cosy wool when it’s chilly, so here are a few of my favourite pieces from the latest collections online…
Many of our readers are keen on Me+Em. The quality is fantastic and the styling classic yet contemporary. This Merino Cashmere Perfect Off-Duty Jumper in Mushroom (also available in Black) MORE INFO is paired with their new Italian Wool Short Military Coat MORE INFO This brilliant outfit will easily take you through the coldest months with ease, keeping you warm and looking very stylish indeed.
Love, love, love this cashmere polo. From Everlane, who say “Cashmere that looks – and feels – damn fine. Featuring a buttonless plunge, subtle rib detailing, and a relaxed shape, it has a cool, I-just-threw-this-on vibe. Plus, it’s made of certified Grade-A cashmere from Inner Mongolia, which is more durable, pills less, and gets softer with wear.” MORE INFO
Both Annabel and I have got one of these luxurious yet practical merino wool coats from Winser London. Available in six colours, it is a simple edge to edge coat that is oh so useful as a warming layer. Definitely a wardrobe hero. MORE INFO
This Rich Brown colour would look pretty good with Mandarina Tammy Boots in Sable. MORE INFO
What next? Well, you can always rely on Kettlewell for a welcome burst of mood-brightening colour and this Aurelia long cardigan is another favourite in my own wardrobe. Shown here in Ultra Violet and there are nine other colours too. MORE INFO
If you find yourself hankering after a much loved traditional style of jersey, then take a look at this complex patterned Fair Isle yoke cardigan from Brora. MORE INFO
How feminine does it look worn with the frilly shirt underneath. I have something similar from Me+Em that I’ve enjoyed wearing for several years and I noticed that they have a new version – the Broderie Trim Layering Top – in their latest collection. CLICK HERE to take a look.
Check out these two elegant pieces from The White Company. First another traditional style, the Cable Front crew neck in Oatmeal. MORE INFO The second, also in Oatmeal (well, it goes with practically any other colour) is this beautiful Button Back jumper with cashmere. Always a bonus to have an interesting rear view in my book! My final pick is a chunky knit from Thought. The longer length, flattering high neck and block colours give it real standout. Made from 85% premium organic cotton and 15% wool blend yarn, it has a relaxed fit and can be machine washed at 30 degrees. Tip: there are other colourways on the Thought website at discounted prices. MORE INFO
