Technical Content Manager - CancerTools

Salary: £54,000 - £59,000 pa depending on experience

Reports to: Head of Growth Marketing - CancerTools

Department: Research & Innovation

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week (flexible-working requests will also be considered if it meets business needs)

Location: Stratford, London with high flexibility (we would expect you to be in the office on average 1-2 days per week)

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Technical Content Manager to join the CancerTools team and be responsible for writing compelling scientific marketing copy that showcases our products and services to the global cancer research community.

About the team

CancerTools.org is the world's largest non-profit technology transfer organisation dedicated exclusively to research reagents. It forms part of Cancer Research UK, the world's largest independent cancer research funder, providing in excess of £350M grant funding annually. CancerTools.org is part of Cancer Research UK's Commercial Partnerships team (formerly Cancer Research Technology) where it has partnered with and commercialises the research reagents of more than 180 universities, technology transfer offices and research organisations worldwide.

What will I be doing?

  • Generate scientifically accurate marketing collateral, case studies, whitepapers and web content, with search engine optimisation (SEO) in mind, to engage researchers for distribution across marketing channels

  • Define brand voice, in-house writing style, value propositions and messaging aligned to our target audience of cancer researchers (academics, pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology and CROs)

  • Work closely with a scientific marketing lead and product marketing team, to develop materials that align with current content focussed campaigns, and effectively communicate our value proposition to differentiate us from competitors

  • Work with the digital marketing team to generate brand level campaign content and PR releases

  • Update and optimise current marketing collateral, and in collaboration with marketing, identify new requirements to drive engagement and sales

  • Collaborate with Graphic Design to ensure visually appealing, on-brand content with accurate data representation

  • Identify, collaborate and engage with relevant customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in cancer research fields to generate case studies and testimonials

  • Work with internal stakeholders, including the licensing and lab teams to identify opportunities for testimonials, reviews and data for inclusion in content to highlight our products and value proposition to academic and industry verticals.

  • Stay up to date with scientific literature and developments across key cancer research areas

  • The ability to manipulate and use scientific data for visualisation across digital channels

What skills are we looking for?

  • Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Proven experience in scientific writing and generating technical marketing content in life sciences or related fields, with SEO awareness

  • Exemplary communication skills, and the ability to work pro-actively with internal teams and stakeholders to create content, gather and collate information

  • Demonstrable ability for organisation and managing multiple projects, working to tight deadlines

  • Working knowledge of digital marketing channels and content distribution in life sciences or a related field

  • PhD in a Life Science discipline or BSc/MSc with equivalent experience (cancer related fields preferred)

Desirable:

  • Research background in a cancer related field a plus

  • Digital content experience in cancer related field a plus

  • Experience in PR, and creating editorials for scientific news networks
