Job Description

The Information Appraisal team within Defras Information Management team is looking for an Information Appraiser to join their team based in Alnwick office. As a central government department Defra is statutorily required by the Public Records Act to have in place a systematic approach to managing its records, and for identifying and transferring historical public records to The National Archives (TNA) for permanent preservation in line with the 20 Year Rule.At present the focus is on Defras paper registered files however there will, in time, also be a move towards the appraisal of our digital holdings.The successful candidate will join a team of 13 friendly and hardworking colleagues who are all based at the Alnwick office. The role will suit an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working both within a team and independently, has an eye for detail and a genuine willingness to learn.
