Logistics Supervisor - ExCel London
£31,500 per annumExCeL London, the home of world leading events is enjoying a period of significant growth and is set to become Europe's largest connected convention centre with the opening of a new extension in Spring 2025, increasing capacity by 25%. ExCeL London Hospitality caters for the biggest, most influential events in the UK, from executive meetings to large scale conferences and exhibitions. We boast a highly trained team of managers, chefs and waiting staff, who ensure our customers receive the best possible service.
The Logistics Supervisor will be play a central role into the logistics operation for all the variety of events taking place across the venue. Moving equipment around and operating all the events set up, as well as their break down. You will build back of house areas, fully equipped with industrial coffee machines, chilling rooms, and kitchen facilities. You will be responsible as the entire logistics team for any piece of heavy equipment leaving the warehouse.
Reporting to the Logistic Manager, driving changes, improvements, and new process.
- Operating the logistic of all C+E functions for the company, within the venue.
- Operating sets up + break down, and sharing all the needed information across the logistic team.
- Responsible alongside the Logistics + Back Of House team, to prep the picklist, liaising with the operation team, report shortages and offer alternative solutions.
- Responsible alongside the Logistic Manager for any equipment hired returns or collection, informing the head of department of any possible losses.
- Take all necessary actions to reduce the breakage of China and Glassware.
- Attending events planning meetings once requested
- Report any maintenance issue within the company venue areas to the Facility Manager or Head of Logistics.
- Follow and improve operating and cleaning procedures together with the department management team.
- Support the warehouse team when required.
- Support the cellar team when required.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within a smilar role
- Excellent communications skills - able to influence all stakeholder levels.
- Previous P+L accountability and evidence of commercial nous.
- Demonstrates flexibility and agility.
- Calm and structured approach, coupled with resilience and problem-solving skills.
- Preferable forklift driving license holder.
