Job Title:Assistant Director - Safeguarding, Quality and Performance

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director for Safeguarding, Quality and Performance to join our team. This role is crucial in providing operational leadership and management support to our Safeguarding, Quality, and Performance services. The successful candidate will support the Director of ASC in meeting statutory responsibilities, aligning services with the Council's long-term vision, and improving the effectiveness and quality of services across the department.
️Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for safeguarding services for adults across Derbyshire.
- Develop and drive the quality assurance strategy, ensuring continuous service improvement and compliance.
- Lead the operational service delivery, managing performance and resources in accordance with the Department's performance framework and Council policies.
- Ensure the department is ready for national inspection arrangements, providing oversight of strategies, plans, and implementation.
- Support the Principal Social Worker (PSW) statutory function and safeguarding functions.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with senior officers, external partner agencies, regulatory and inspection organisations, and national and regional bodies.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality service delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive senior management experience within an adult social care setting.
- Proven track record of managing substantial budgets and delivering quality improvement.
- Comprehensive understanding of the statutory basis and regulatory framework for social care.
- Strong leadership and direction, ensuring the oversight and delivery of statutory services.
- Degree level (preferably Higher Degree level) or relevant experience; relevant management qualification and professional qualification (e.g., social work) are desirable.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain partnerships at a senior level.
- High-level influencing and negotiating skills to manage risk in a complex environment.
- Strong leadership and direction, driving cultural change and continuous improvement.
