Engineering Technician

Are you a hardworking, customer focused Engineering Technician with good problem solving and communication skills? If so, we would like to hear from you.

Applications are invited for the position of Engineering Technician to work within a small, busy team, based at the Council Offices at Wingerworth.

Working closely alongside the council's Facilities and Estates teams and Rykneld Homes, the post will involve a very varied workload including:

• Assisting in the design, administration and supervision of works of engineering construc­tion from initial design through to final account under the direction of the Senior Engineers.
• Use of AutoCAD to draft plans and technical drawings
• Inspecting the council's infrastructure assets, including watercourses, footways, roads and garage sites
• Carrying out diversions and extinguishments of Public Rights of Way under the direction of the Senior Engineers.
• Helping to devise and carry out maintenance programmes for the Council's infrastructure assets
• Assisting in the management of Demolition schemes
• Providing specialist drainage and flood management advice
• Working with partners and the public
