Our Financial Management and Strategy Team provides a centralised business partnering finance function to support our services in delivering that vision. Faced with the financial challenges common across Local Government, the Council has an ambitious refreshed Council Plan to deliver financial sustainability and support our residents and communities to thrive.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Assistant to work in our Financial Strategy and Corporate Services and Transformation teams within Financial Management and Strategy.
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner or Senior Finance Officer, you will be working to support the Financial Strategy and Business Partnering Team to deliver high quality and effective financial information.
The role encompasses reconciliations and financial analysis, revenue budget monitoring, year-end activities, grant accounting and external reporting and the provision of financial advice to support decision making.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and be skilled in the use of financial systems.
Our Financial Management and Strategy Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but as part of our Modern Ways of Working programme we are currently working on a hybrid basis. There will be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
