Job Description
The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a flexible, hardworking, friendly and caring SEN Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our committed and supportive team.
Whitwell Primary School is a larger than average sized school in the village of Whitwell on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border, with approximately 250 children on roll. We have a dedicated team of staff who are committed to raising achievement and standards for all groups of children.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Teaching and Learning Assistant who is an enthusiastic and caring person. This role is to work in KS2, although experience of KS1 is welcomed.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A flexible approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and to use initiative in dealing with situations effectively.
- Good communication skills.
- Good levels of Literacy and Numeracy.
- Ability to maintain relevant pupil records as required and feedback to the class teacher.
- Ability to prepare equipment and resources for the children under direction of the class teacher.
- A sense of humour, empathy with children of primary school age, a caring personality and confidential nature
The post involves working five mornings plus 30 mins during lunchtimes
(8.35am - 12.05pm and 12.35pm- 1.05pm.)
