We are excited to be expanding our Positive Behavioural Support Team within County Durham and currently have an 18 hour vacancy for a Positive Journeys Support role in our Hub at Chester-le-Street.

It is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your skills and experience, whilst working with a dedicated and knowledgeable team specialising in providing Positive Behavioural Support.WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The role involves providing support to young people and adults who have a learning disability and present with more complex challenging behaviours in a specialist day service environment which is open Monday - Friday currently between the hours of 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
As a Positive Journeys member of staff, you will work with a strong and dedicated team to enable the implementation of areas of activity, supervision, care, support and training for individuals accessing our services.
Here, you will particularly support by implementing positive behaviour support plans and interventions as recommended by our Positive Behaviour Support Specialist team.
Throughout this role you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with service users to de-escalate incidents and promote learner growth, and create a safe environment.
As part of the Positive Journey's staff team, you will act as a positive role model for those supported by the service, enabling each individual to reach their potential, based on the principles of normalisation and informed choice.

You will have proven care or support experience either in a professional or personal capacity and have the key attributes required such as being naturally caring, patient and understanding and experience in supporting people with behaviours that challenge.
Required Qualifications: 4 GCSE (A-C grades) or NVQ/Diploma level 2 or equivalent
