We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to join our team in September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates must hold the Mandatory Qualification for teaching deaf children and young people. WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will be supporting deaf CYP within in our primary enhanced provision based at Durham Gilesgate Primary School. You will also hold an outreach caseload supporting deaf CYP across County Durham. This post includes additional responsibility for oversight and management of provision across both the primary and secondary Enhanced Provisions within County Durham. You will work in collaboration with headteachers and SENDCos to secure best outcomes for deaf children and young people within both Enhanced Provisions. WHAT WILL I NEED? Essential qualifications for this role are:
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Mandatory qualification in the teaching of deaf CYP (QToD)
You should have significant experience of working with deaf children and young people and children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. It would be advantageous if you had experience of working across both mainstream and specialist provisions. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.
