We have a position available for a Care Support Worker to work with a child (W) with complex needs.

Our smart 9-year-old client who lives with his parents and two siblings, enjoys music, interactive technology, swimming, soft play and local outings. He is looking for a Care Support Worker to help him live his fullest life.

If this sounds like you, please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you. Available shifts include mornings, after school, weekends, term time and school holidays.

The Care Support Worker Role/Client:

W has Cerebral Palsy which impacts various aspects of his life. He is non-verbal but able to communicate using assistive technology. He can mobilise independently around his home and uses a wheelchair outside.

The role will involve supporting W with personal care, washing and dressing, meal preparation, feeding, bed-time routine and facilitating play. You will also provide assistance in his rehabilitation support including aquatic therapy as directed by the MDT.

W attends a special needs school Monday to Friday during term time. When engaged in activities he wants to do, W is happy, loving and kind, but can also display challenging emotional behaviour. This is managed using distraction techniques.

About You:

You will have a minimum of 1 year's care experience ideally working with children with disabilities gained in a Carer or Support Worker role, as a Teaching or Learning Support Assistant, or through personal experience.

You will be a driver and will drive our client's wheelchair adapted automatic WAV to take W to his appointments and out and about in the community and visits to activities.
