Job Title: Business Development Officer- Women's Health

Location: The Portland Hospital, London

Shifts/Pattern or work: 37.5 Hours per week / Monday to Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Officer to join the team based at The Portland Hospital.

As the Business Development Officer, you are responsible to support the hospital's women's health services at The Portland Hospital.

You will work closely with the Business Development team and be a key link for maternity patient enquiries. You will help to promote the Portland Hospital to become the patients' preferred choice for maternity services.

Responsible for managing all maternity enquiries for prospective patients.

With a key focus to convert enquiries to bookings for all aspects of care from ultrasound scans, maternity tours, pregnancy open evenings, initial appointments through to booking their private delivery with the hospital.

You will be patient facing, providing key information on our maternity services and managing patient relationships.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Responsible for managing maternity patient enquiry calls. To create positive first impressions and provide all key information to the caller regarding our maternity services.

    To convert enquiries into bookings from initial appointments through to their private delivery.

  • To follow up on all patient activity to increase conversion and patient satisfaction. To work closely with HCA Connect who support the overflow calls on the maternity enquiry line.

  • To explain clearly the maternity choices available to pregnant ladies/couples.

    To become an expert in maternity services.

  • To build strong relationships with our consultants, midwives and secretaries.

  • To log all enquiries to help with customer service and tracking conversion. To identify any trends and provide monthly reports on data collected.

  • To work closely with reservations and business office for patient enquiries and Marketing for promoting our services.

  • To work closely with the Imaging team, sonographers and The Birth Company to convert scanning enquiries into private deliveries.

  • To support all local events to promote the Portland Hospital.

  • To work closely with marketing to ensure website content, patient literature and consultant directories all kept up to date.

  • To work closely with the corporate sales team to ensure we have a range of corporate clients referring their employees to us for private maternity services.

  • To support Gynae patient enquiries, self-pay enquiries and support Women's Health patient pathways from outpatients to inpatient stays.

What you'll bring:

  • Communication and relationship management skills

  • Creative in devising and seeing new business opportunities

  • Ability to follow through with ideas into workable business plans

  • Excellent Organisational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of the Private healthcare sector

  • Understanding needs of multi-nationality clientele

  • Previous patient/customer communication skills

  • Previous customer/practitioner liaison experience within a hospital/ medical environment
