Fully Funded Executive Masters in Medical Leadership (EMML)

HCA Healthcare UK in association with Bayes Business School

Clinical Locations: HCA Hospitals in London, Birmingham, or Manchester.

This is a 2.5 year contract from September 2025 - January 2028. Full Time 40 hours per week contract. ( 34Hours Clinical - 6 hours paid study component )

You will be paid £68,000-£78,000 per annum (dependent on experience, and specialty) plus we facilitate full funding of the EMML degree.

HCA Healthcare UK is proud to offer x10 Clinical Fellowships in Medical Leadership, which combines hands-on clinical work with a fully funded Executive Masters in Medical Leadership (EMML) delivered by the prestigious Bayes Business School, through City University of London.

We are in our 9th year of leading this unique fellowship, designed for junior doctors who aspire to become transformative leaders in healthcare and we have successfully supported over 60 Doctors to excel and elevate their careers. The fellowship allows you to work part-time as a Resident Doctor in world-class private hospitals across London, Birmingham, or Manchester, while developing leadership and management skills tailored to the healthcare sector. The program is specifically designed for busy clinicians, enabling you to balance work and study, with no burden on your study finances.

Bayes Business School recognises that strong medical leadership enhances patient outcomes, streamlines processes, and increases satisfaction. The EMML master's degree focuses on the critical leadership skills needed to drive innovation, improve patient care, and lead in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. The program equips you to:

Clinical Leadership Fellowship Highlights

Employment at HCA Healthcare UK:

  • Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by agreement).
  • Part-Time Clinical Resident Doctor Work (34 hours per week): As a Resident Doctor, you will deliver high-quality patient care alongside a collaborative medical team.
  • Specialist Areas: Medical Oncology, PICU, Internal Medicine, Adult Critical Care, or Haematology.
  • Locations: HCA Healthcare UK Hospitals in London, Birmingham, or Manchester.
  • Work clinically as a Resident Doctor, alongside renowned specialists, in our Consultant-led Medical Teams.
  • Receive leadership mentorship guidance from our business leaders in healthcare management and in addition to working clinically, you will own and deliver an impact project that improves patient care or satisfaction, culminating in publishable research or strategic innovation.

Study Executive Masters in Medical Leadership (EMML):

  • Fully Funded Degree: Provided by HCA Healthcare UK's apprenticeship levy (terms and conditions apply).
  • Attend 36 Bespoke Medical Leadership Lectures: Delivered by industry-leading experts at Bayes Business School.
  • Assessments: Complete projects, exams, group assessments, and essays for each module, followed at the end of the course by a dissertation and an end-point assessment.
  • Prestigious Accreditation: The EMML, delivered by Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), is recognised by FMLM Leadership Standards and is highly respected across the industry.

What We're Looking For

  • Eligibility: UK-based doctors with GMC registration.
  • Training: Completion of CMT, IMT, or a minimum of 3 years of run-through specialty training.
  • Specialist Interest: Preferred experience in Medical Oncology, Paediatric Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Adult Critical Care, or Haematology.
  • Commitment to healthcare innovation and transformation.
  • Ability to attend 36 bespoke fixed scheduled lectures at Bayes Business School. ( This will be paid attendance, in addition to your clinical shifts)
  • A 2.5-year commitment with HCA Healthcare UK (September 2025 - January 2028).
