Lead Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner

The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Permanent

Shifts: Monday-Friday, 5 days, Occasional Saturdays, Short & Long days

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Scrub Theatre Practitioner with strong Orthopaedic experience to join our fantastic Theatre Team at The Harborne Hospital.

The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital that has opened in Birmingham in January 2024. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital has the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Orthopaedics, Spinal, Cardiac , Cancer, , Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT and Complex Surgery. We have 4 State of the art Operating Theatres (Including 1 Hybrid Theatre.

What you will do:

  • Provide clinical leadership to all nursing staff in theatres and ensure high standards of care are maintained.

  • Co-ordinate the day to day running of the theatres, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Mentoring and supporting Junior Members of staff

  • You will be a team player who is confident to run theatre lists and set up theatres.

What you'll bring:

  • Registered Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.

  • Post graduate experience in Theatres

  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration

  • Experience working as a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner in an Operating Theatre or as a Lead Theatre Practitioner.

  • Orthopaedic Scrubbing experience (Essential)
