The service you will work in....
A day in this role is supporting those within the community who are in temporary accommodation or are street homeless. you will be supporting them in how to maintain a tenancy or assist in finding temporary housing. alongside dealing with benefits and anything addressing housing.
A day in this role looks like....
As a Floating Support Workerat Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Criminal Justice Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.
A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:
- To be responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining independent living skills and general wellbeing for a wide cross section in society within and outside Bromley
- To use organisational needs, risk and aspirational based assessment tools with the service users to gain a clear understanding of their individual situations
- To formulate, implement and review personalised, client focused support plans with service users and other professionals as needed.
- To utilise key working sessions with service users to enable them to develop and sustain independence, maintain their tenancy, and enjoy a good quality of life.
- To motivate service users to participate in and take ownership of all aspects of their daily lives.
- To encourage engagement in activities which supports their physical and mental wellbeing.
- To enable service users to access physical and mental health services within the local community.
- To promote independence with service users through effective relationship building.
- To support service users, maximise their financial security and independence through encouraging access to employment, training and volunteering opportunities.
- To liaise effectively and professionally with other agencies involved in supporting the service users.
- To provide quality information to service users on alternative housing options when needed and how best to utilise existing supports.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Demonstrable experience of working with service users experiencing tenancy related challenges
- Demonstrable experience of working with service users who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Knowledge of issues affecting those service users with mental health, drug and alcohol related issues
- Ability to inspire confidence in empowering service users to make choices for themselves despite the difficulty of the situations they find themselves in
- Ability to promote independence with service users.
- Understanding the principles of Recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches
- Ability to work on their own with effective time management skills and experiences.
- Ability to form effective relations with colleagues and other professionals.
- Awareness of effective health and safety and lone working processes
- Good IT and overall communication skills
- Knowledge and clear understanding of what safeguarding is and the ability to address instances appropriately
