We are currently looking for Senior Support Workers within Ivy Care at our Ivy Dene service located in Ferrybridge, WF11. We are offering permanent, full time positions working 37.5 hours a week across a mixture of early shifts (07.30 - 15.00) and late shifts (14.30 - 22.00).

We want people who are committed to developing their own profession skills. This is supported by a variety of training opportunities including the ability to complete an NVQ Level 3 in Adult Social Care. You will be working alongside our supportive management team to provide the best quality of life possible for the adults who live in our service.

Ivy Dene was rated Good in our last CQC inspection. We are very proud of the quality of all our residential services, and have invested in our homes and staff and plan to continue this in order to achieve a service that is ambitious, innovative and responsive to the needs of the adults we support.

As a Senior Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of the management team directly supporting the assistant and registered manager and ensuring the teams of support staff are providing inclusive, quality care to meet the personal support needs of the people we support
  • Lead shifts and assist with coaching teams and inducting new staff to the service
  • Writing daily reports on activities, updating care plans and completing risk assessments for the people we support
  • Working and supporting adults with complex needs to create positive outcomes and promote independence and person-centred care, providing practical assistance and emotional support to help empower the people we support achieve their goals and aspirations
  • Direct practical interactions with the people we support including activities, cooking, personal care and engaging with the wider community
  • Engage in planning, implementation and delivery of support plans

To apply, you should have:

  • Experience at Senior Support Worker or Team Leader level in adult social care
  • An understanding of care plans, autism, anxiety, learning disabilities and the challenging behaviours that these can present
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills, good English and computer skills with a knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • The same shared vision as Ivy Care to provide the best standard of support possible and to enable people with learning disabilities and complex needs to live as independently as possible
