The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and professional Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Adults Service. In this role, you will:
- Provide a professional social work service, including statutory social care responsibilities.
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee multi-agency Section 42 safeguarding enquiries for adults with care and support needs.
- Develop and review safeguarding adult protection plans.
- Ensure a collaborative and person-centred approach aligned with the Care Act and Making Safeguarding Personal Agenda.
- Work closely with partner agencies, providers, and other stakeholders to support positive outcomes and prevent further harm or abuse.
- Deliver timely and high-quality outcomes aligned with our service model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a professional Social Work Service.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to meet statutory social care responsibilities.
- Lead and coordinate Section 42 safeguarding adult enquiries.
- Develop and review adult safeguarding plans.
- Act as a primary contact for safeguarding support and advice.
- Assess safeguarding concerns and determine the best course of action.
- Prepare safeguarding reports for case conferences and other forums.
- Manage your own caseload and support students and newly qualified social workers.
- Keep accurate records using Social Care electronic record systems.
Person Specification: Qualifications:
- Social Work, CSS, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent
- Current Social Work England registration
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to Safeguarding and wider social work practice
- Ability to manage and balance a varied caseload
- Proactive in caseload and performance management
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- IT literate and experience in using manual and computer systems for record keeping
- Commitment to continuous professional development

You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
