Salary 53,888 - 58,282 Per Annum | Permanent, Full Time | 37 hours per week

Join us at Lancashire County Council as the People Programme Lead in this exciting opportunity to help us to deliver significant change and transformation across our 13,000 workforce.

As the People Programme Lead, you will act as the lead for planning, tracking and monitoring all our activity within the People Services team as we drive forward initiatives that will improve workforce performance, engagement, and development. This is a role where you will work alongside the Director of People and the People services Management team, ensuring the various teams within People Services stay on track, and report on progress. We have a new Council Plan and need to refresh our People Strategy, and you will bring your 'thinking differently' approach and share your insights and expertise that you might have gained elsewhere in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development of clear plans and milestones that will underpin the delivery of People activity needed to achieve service plans.
  • Support us to develop a new People Strategy and a comprehensive People Strategy Roadmap that will tell the story of our plan to be a place to where people want to work and have a career.
  • Using your collaboration and leadership skills, ensure the People Programme is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner that allows our colleagues to thrive.

Our ideal applicant will be:

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to create achievable project plans to address complex organisational challenges. We need inspirational leaders who can look at problems in different ways to bring about solutions and grab opportunities.
  • You will need a strong understanding of the challenges faced by local government. We have skills challenges like all organisations, and you will need to understand the nuances of how local authorities operate so that we can get things done quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent project management skills will be critical and the ability to utilise data to inform decisions is non-negotiable we need to be able to see the difference our interventions are making quickly.
