Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to be part of the Medical Needs Teaching Service, in these Learning Mentor posts, which aim to break down the barriers to learning for children and young people. We are seeking to appoint two individuals with the drive to make a significant contribution towards the educational attainment of children and young people with medical needs.
The successful candidates will:
- be keen to work within an outstanding education service and with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- have a positive and optimistic approach
- have excellent interpersonal skills and personal resilience
The Medical Needs Teaching Service (MNTS) is a service commissioned by Leeds Local Authority through a Service Level Agreement with the East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre. The MNTS delivers outstanding learning in settings across Leeds to children and young people who cannot attend school because of health needs.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All candidates that are successfully selected for an interview will be required to complete a self-disclosure form. Appointments will be to the Medical Needs Teaching Service which is part of the East SILC and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference check.
