Working Hours: up to 25 hours per week (split shift) for school term time only with the opportunity for additional hours (when available).

About the Role
We are currently looking to recruit a number of drivers for our Passenger Fleet Team.
Drivers are primarily responsible for transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs including physical and /or learning difficulties to their School, Day Centres and other activities. Drivers will ensure (along with the escort - where allocated) their passengers' personal wellbeing and safe/secure travel at all times, in accordance with the job description, relevant Policies, legislation, Procedures and good practice. Duties may also include transporting associated goods and services. There are various vacancies available operating from depots across the County of Leicestershire Current vacancy packages:
Permanent positionsBlaby Depot - 2 x 10 hours per week (Monday and Friday) term time only (split shift)
Blaby depot - 1 x 15 hour per week (Wednesday to Friday) possible middle of the day work.
Mountsorrel Depot - 1 x 10 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) term time only - split shift
Sapcote Depot - 2 x 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) term time only spit shifts
Sapcote Depot - 1 x 5 hours on a Tuesday (split shift)
Melton Depot - 1 x 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday split shift)
Loughborough Depot - 2 x 25 hours per week(*example of split shift = 7.30am - 10am/2.00pm - 5.30pm)
Casual positions also available.
Casual posts are also being sought for Libraries distribution team and our passenger depots which includes: Sapcote, Loughborough, Melton, Blaby, Mountsorrel, Croft and Nailstone.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
- Full Driving Licence prior to 1/1/1997 OR post 1/1/1997 Driving License with minibus entitlement category D1 (minimum) or DAnd experience or knowledge in:
- Driving and transporting individuals/groups of people.
- Working face-to-face with the general public within a service provision environment providing customer care and quality services.
- Keeping written records / documentation in a neat and tidy manner and sufficiently numerate to complete worksheets
- Road Traffic Legislation and Highway Code
- Able to communicate verbally with people of varying capabilities, including those with challenging behaviours
- Ability, with training, to undertake a series of moving and handling operations associated with the transport of people and static loads
