Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a number of Driver Operatives within our Greenspaces service area both permanent and fixed term opportunities to provide effective driving and operation functions to maintain and continuously improve the image of the company across Liverpool. As part of this role you will be required to undertake a full range of functions operating manual and mechanical plant and equipment such as blowers, hedgecutters, mowers, pole pruners, chipper's, brush cutters etc. You will assist with maintaining high standards of grounds maintenance across Liverpool's Highways, Parks, Greenspaces and Cemeteries. Salary: Scale 4 SCP 11 - £27,269. Please note exact salary is dependent on the role you are appointed to. If there is a requirement to undertake a working pattern which incorporates weekend working, additional allowances will be paid. Please note additional allowances are as follows: • £3137.94 per annum for a Driver Operative working a 4 on 4 off working pattern. Contract: Various full time positions available both permanent and fixed term contracts. Fixed term contracts will be until 31st October 2025. Location: You will be based from one of the following depot locations across the city: • Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool, L4 2SL • Everton Cemetery, Liverpool, L9 9AG • Calderstones Park, Liverpool, L18 3JD • Allerton Cemetery, Liverpool, L19 5NF Working Pattern: Various working patterns, Monday - Sunday earliest start time is 7:00am, latest finish time is 17:00pm. Vacancies include both Monday - Friday and 4 on 4 off working patterns. 4 on 4 off working patterns weekend working is required. Please note 4 on 4 off working is only for 28 weeks per year. The remaining 24 weeks will be working Monday to Friday. Job Reference Number: LSSL0291 You will undertake tasks including mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, hedge cutting, leaf clearance and will be required to carry out litter picking or litter bin servicing across our greenspaces and highway verges including joint working with other areas of the business. To fulfil the requirements of the role you must hold a full UK driving licence and have knowledge of health and safety requirements. You must have the ability to work alone or as part of a team and have good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to work with others in a compassionate, rational, considerate and respectful way. You must have the ability to take responsibility of own workload and maintain high standards of work.
