About the role
Join a dynamic and impactful team as we work together to shape the future of NFU Mutual and protect the interests of our members and rural communities. In this exciting new role of Corporate Affairs Officer, you'll collaborate closely with the Corporate Affairs Manager to develop and execute comprehensive communication, policy, and engagement strategies that enhance stakeholder relationships and champion the needs of those we serve.
You'll build and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, industry bodies, and rural organisations, ensuring NFU Mutual is well-represented and advocating for our members. You'll play a critical role in preparing briefing materials for senior leaders, coordinating our involvement in industry events, and staying ahead of political developments to help guide our business responses.
Your ability to monitor and respond to political consultations will be crucial, leveraging NFU Mutual's expertise and data to drive our advocacy efforts. You'll also draft key corporate statements and communications that help us engage effectively with both external stakeholders and our members, while contributing to the development of NFU Mutual's position on important policy matters.
You'll collaborate with the wider Marketing and Media Relations teams, supporting integrated campaigns and identifying new opportunities for stakeholder engagement. You'll also help ensure our members stay connected to the business through our Report and Accounts and Annual General Meeting communications.

About you
We're looking for a motivated individual with a passion for corporate affairs, policy development, and rural communities. You bring with you experience in a corporate affairs role, parliamentary office, or similar environments, with a deep understanding of the UK political and regulatory landscape.
Your knowledge of rural affairs is highly valued, and experience of working in this space would be a distinct advantage. You have a solid background in policy development and a strong interest in shaping the future of rural communities and the insurance industry.
