  • About the role

    We have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of our newly launched Future Senior Business Leaders programme at NFU Mutual. This 2-year fixed term contract offers a bespoke suite of structured learning, combined with access to a mentor and business coach, to help you gain the skills you need to move into a self-employed role running your own £multi-million insurance business within the NFU Mutual Agency Network.

Our Future Senior Business Leaders programme is designed to help you transition from a high-performing corporate manager into a fully-fledged self-employed strategic business leader, in partnership with other like-minded professionals. Our South East region covers the south coast from Kent to Dorset, the southern part of the M4/M40 corridor, as well as the whole of Greater London. With over 40 NFU Mutual agencies, across 11 counties, this region looks after more than £435m in GWPI with huge opportunity for continued growth.

    What can you expect joining our Future Business Leader programme in the South East?
  • A dedicated development plan, combining a mix of technical product training, industry recognised qualifications and hands-on experience in a series placement.
  • Access to senior mentors gives you the ability to learn from top performing self-employed business leaders across the NFU Mutual Agency Network.
  • Exposure to key business areas within NFU Mutual, to acquire an in-depth knowledge of our portfolio of products and stakeholders, including Marketing, Financial Services, Risk Management Services and Underwriting.
  • You'll be involved in projects that enable you to add value from day one, this Programme is your opportunity to secure your future as a self-employed Agent within the NFU Mutual Agency Network.
  • Become part of the fastest growing distribution network across Commercial and High Net Worth sales in the NFU Mutual Agency Network, there's huge opportunity to hit the ground running and contribute to the growth potential of the region.
  • This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of "Good Repute".     About you

    Working in a senior sales or business development capacity within Insurance or related industries, (for example Financial Services) you know you want to run your own business but need support to move into a self-employed role.
    To join our Future Senior Business Leader Programme, you will be:
  • Experienced in strategic Planning: Demonstrated success in driving results through effective strategic planning.
  • Proficient in sales and people management: Highly skilled in managing sales teams and leading high performing teams.
  • A Change Management expert: Proven experience in managing and implementing change within an operational environment.
  • A Self-starter: Naturally driven to pursue your own development and growth.
  • ACII qualified (preferred): Ideally, you hold an ACII qualification or are willing to work towards obtaining it
