Senior RPG Developer

  • An opportunity for a Senior Developer to join our iFaces Development Team
  • A chance to provide on-going development and support for NFU Mutual's GI insurance product, iFaces
  • Part-time 21 hours, 3 days per week
  • About the role

    We are seeking a Senior RPG Developer within the iFaces Core Development Team.

    In this role, you will provide support and maintenance for the in-house bespoke policy administration systems (iFaces). You will collaborate closely with team members and business stakeholders to understand and interpret IT system requirements, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.

    As a Senior RPG Developer, you will be expected to continuously build knowledge, develop new skills, and stay up to date with emerging software, development methodologies, tools, and industry standards. You will work within an Agile framework to drive efficiency, innovation, and adaptability.

    About you

    We are looking for an individual with a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A high level of experience in iSeries RPG Developer, AS400 / iSeries Analyst Programmer, IBM AS400 RPG Developer, Free Format RPG, RPG/ILE, RPG400, CL, SQL
  • Full Life Cycle development experience
  • Experience of developing within an agile framework.
  • A pro-active, creative, analytical, and enquiring nature.
  • Compliance with team, department and company policy and procedure
  • An awareness of ITIL would be highly desirable for this role.
