Job summary

We are looking for a highly skilledAdvanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) who has experience within the NHS providing expert musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment, diagnosis, and management. As an APP you will be operating beyond the traditional scope of physiotherapy, taking on extended responsibilities such as ordering diagnostic imaging, prescribing medications, and referring patients to specialist services.

Main duties of the job

  • Expert Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis Conducts advanced MSK assessments, formulates diagnoses, and implements evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Independent Management & Treatment Provides personalised rehabilitation, manual therapy, and exercise prescription.
  • Diagnostics & Prescribing Orders and interprets imaging (X-ray, MRI, ultrasound) and may independently prescribe medications.
  • Injection Therapy Trained to administer corticosteroid and other therapeutic injections to enhance patient care.
  • Referral & Multidisciplinary Working Refers patients to specialists (e.g., orthopaedics, rheumatology) and collaborates with healthcare teams.

APPs play a vital role in streamlining patient care, reducing unnecessary referrals, and improving NHS efficiency.

Experience

Essential

  • Must be HCPC Registered
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years NHS experience
  • Must have 1 year experience as an APP

Desirable

  • Injection trained
