An exciting opportunity has arisen at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for an Apprentice Administrator working within the Medical Director's office (MDO). The Administrator will support the Business Managers to manage medical appraisal, revalidation and job planning processes at the Trust.
The Apprenticeship programme will be delivered by our external NHS approved training provider. You will take part in interactive workshops and be assigned a tutor to support you throughout the programme, as well as receiving support from the MKUH Apprenticeship Team.

Main duties of the job

This role is a fixed term contract of 17 months. For the first 12 months of the apprenticeship, you will be paid the national apprentice wage. From month 13 to the end of contract, you will receive the national pay vs your age. There is no banded role upon completion of the contract.
For existing members of staff, Annex 30 may apply, of which pay rates may differ.

Job responsibilities
The scope of work can be variable with the need to respond to ad hoc queries. However, the key areas of work are as follows: To provide administrative support to the MDO team using relevant software packages and appraisal management systems within set timescales and to a high standard of accuracy. To include: Typing documents letters, meeting notes, reports Processing correspondence, messages, and e-mails Develop and maintain effective and efficient office systems Manages the departments filing system, both electronically and paper-based Ensuring all new doctors are inducted into the process and trained on the system and National / Trust requirements for appraisal.

Essential
- Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
- Evidence of continued professional development
Experience / Knowledge
Desirable
- Experience in the NHS
- Experience in operational management and / or human resources
- Experience of working directly with doctors at all levels of seniority, and with Director / Associate Director colleagues
- Familiarity with terms and conditions of service for doctors of all grades
- Working knowledge of appraisal and revalidation
- Working knowledge of capability, disciplinary, ill health framework for doctors (MHPS
