Main duties of the job

  • Support the strategic and operational deliveryof the Main Works construction programme.
  • Assist in project planning, programme development, and risk managementto ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, key stakeholders, and external contractors to maintain governance, compliance, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Play a key role in the procurement and contract managementof specialist services.
  • Work within NHS sustainability and Net Zero targets to support the creation of a future-proof healthcare facility.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Evidence of post graduate diploma level knowledge
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Able to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for their role

Desirable

  • Knowledge of construction methodologies including Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
  • Sustainability certifications (e.g. BREEAM)
  • Formal Project Management qualification
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulation and standards set by CQC

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting with end-to-end construction processes, including budget and resource compliance, within complex projects and programmes
  • Significant experience of successful collaborative working and partnership development with a wide range of stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects
  • Experience of a variety of project planning and programming techniques
  • Experience of governance and business case approval processes

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the construction industry
  • Experience in NHS or public sector
  • Experience of business case development for large or complex capital projects
  • Post qualification experience at management level
  • Knowledge of the New Hospital Programme

Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of HBN's, Firecode, HGN's and HTM's
