We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor to work within our team located at McMullen Barracks, Marchwood, Hants.
DPHC is a vibrant and fast paced organisation which strives to provide the best primary healthcare to members of the Armed Forces and other entitled personnel. DPHC delivers a clinical service in accordance with NHS Standards and Ministry of Defence policies.
This is a part-time position offered at 20 hrs per week as part of a job share. The days to be worked are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate, you will be helping to sustain and improve the training and operational effectiveness of injured Service personnel by provision of high-quality targeted rehabilitation, accelerating their return to optimal physical capacity, whilst influencing their psychological and social health.
The Exercise Remedial Instructor (ERI) working within the Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility (PCRF) will be providing a high standard of exercise-based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the muscular-skeletal/sports and training injury area for the Population At Risk (PAR), meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.
The role is to provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service.
You will be responsible for giving full support to the Line Manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional exercise based rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury area.

Job responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the MO/Physiotherapist/Clinical Team Manager has made a diagnosis.
- Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
- Ensuring attendance at specialist/review clinics, providing an update of each patient to the clinical lead for the patient/group and the provision of progress and other clinical reports, as directed.
- Ensuring the provision of clinical reports to assist in the comprehensive discharge planning for both referring source and ongoing patient care under other health professionals.
- Supporting and attending weekly and monthly Special Interest Group and Clinical Governance Meetings where audit, research, service and policy development and presentations are conducted within the multidisciplinary team environment.

Further Information:
The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed at the Marchwood site.
