Job summary

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic person who has excellent communication, IT literate and problem solving skills alongside a passion for patient centered care. You will work corporately within our Primary Care Team and will be supporting the Community Nurses in Bedford and the wider MDT to with provide high quality care to housebound residents who live with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and assist colleagues cover service needs, which will include working across the wider integrated team. Access to a car in order to carry out service duties is essential.

A full induction programme will be provided.

The Community Nursing Service operates between 08.00 to 21.00 hours and the working pattern will include a variety of rotational shifts which will include weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working.

  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
  • Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
  • Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and monitor care
