Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated Bank School Aged Service Practitioner to provide trauma-informed support to children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to care and decision-making.
This role involves working across all school-aged services, delivering drop-in sessions, one-to-one appointments, group-based interventionsor supporting the delivery of whole school public health approaches.The focus will be on four key areas: emotional health and wellbeing, risk behaviours, lifestyle behaviour change, and healthy relationships, including those with parents and other trusted adults.
As part of this role, you will lead Team Around Family and School Conversations, act as an advocate for young people, and drive systemic change by embedding trauma-informed practices across the system.
Your work will be based across Essex, covering specific areas across the county, with flexibility to meet the evolving needs of children and young people. The base location will be confirmed at the interview.

Main duties of the job
- Provide accessible drop-in and appointment-based support, deliver group interventions, and build trusting relationships to empower young people.
- Plan and implement targeted interventions across emotional health and wellbeing, risk behaviours, lifestyle behaviour change, and healthy relationships.
- Champion young peoples voices, advocate for their needs, and facilitate Team Around Family and School Conversations.
- Develop strong relationships with schools, families, and community organisations to enhance service integration.
- Identify opportunities to influence system change and advocate for trauma-informed approaches in policy and practice.
- Engage in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing training in trauma-informed care, safeguarding, and evidence-based interventions.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, support young people in reducing risk behaviours, and collaborate with professionals to manage complex cases.

- Relevant degree or professional qualification in health, education, social care, or a related field.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families in a trauma-informed context.
- Proven ability to deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and its application in school-aged services.
- Knowledge of child development, emotional wellbeing, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences.
- Strong organisational skills to manage a varied caseload and contribute to system-wide change.
- Commitment to collaboration and co-production with children, young people, and families.
- Flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of young people and the service.
Driving License:A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to different locations, including schools and partner organisations.
