Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Bowel Screen Administrator to join our Endoscopy team within Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The post holder will provide and deliver an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective booking service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for the position of a Band 3 Support Secretary within the Bowel Screening Wales Department at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

The post holder will provide comprehensive secretarial support to Consultants and other Clinical staff, as required.

It is essential that the applicant holds Medical Secretarial Qualifications, along with previous medical secretarial experience, has a high level of audio typing skills, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and a good telephone manner. A flexible approach to work is needed to meet the demands of the service.

The post holder will possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.

The post holder will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgment and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.

Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times.
