Main duties of the job
As a Breast Cancer CNS, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients with breast cancer receive the highest standard of evidence-based care and support from the time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway.

Nuffield Health Barts Hospital We've opened the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital. This is our flagship center for cardiac services and will also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, genecology and urology services. Our hospital consists of 55 beds, including 7 Specialist intensive care beds, four of the most advanced digital operating theatres and Endoscopy and minor ops theatre. With 28 consultation rooms. Cardiac catheterisation lab, Oncology Day unit and full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join our Cancer team as a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). As a Breast Cancer CNS, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients with breast cancer receive the highest standard of evidence-based care and support from the time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. You will work autonomously with an extended and advanced scope of practice, providing clinical leadership and specialist knowledge and skills that enable the delivery of the highest quality, patient care: care that is patient-centred, evidence- based, brand-defining and innovative; delivered in line with organisational, regulatory and governance requirements. You will manage your own clinical caseload taking a holistic approach towards care management and delivery, solving complex care dilemmas with dynamic and innovative solutions and leading and developing the service in line with own specialist knowledge and expertise. Essential
- Registered clinical practitioner with the appropriate governing body.
- A degree / equivalent qualification or proven post-registration/post-qualification experience in own specialist area.
- Advanced Communication course.
Experience
Essential
- Specialist, senior level, post-registration experience gained through formal training required to meet registration requirements.
- Demonstrable specialist experience as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Leadership/management experience.
