Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Business Administration Apprentices to join the wider Communications team giving the opportunity to learn vocational skills whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.
We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, dedicated and able to demonstrate a high level of commitment.
The posts are fixed term 21-month contracts, 37.5hrs Mon-Fri. The salary for the first year is 14,762pa, rising to national minimum wage from month 13.
The roles are based within very busy and fast-paced teams, undertaking a wide range of administrative support tasks.
Main duties of the job
Role 1 -- Medical Illustration, based at Heartlands hospital with some travel to other sites
DUTIES INCLUDE
*Greeting patients, answering phone calls
*Booking in work requests
*Checking shared Inboxes
*Deliveries/collections
Role 2 -- Communications, based across hospital sites
DUTIES INCLUDE
*General general office duties; monitoring shared inbox, answering phone, directing enquiries, deliveries and collections, displaying materials
*Event support
*Online media sweeps
*Monitoring Trust social media accounts
*Upload digital content
Applicants must be:
Aged 16+
Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years, any VISA must cover the duration of the apprenticeship
Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education or already have a qualification in the specific apprenticeship standard.
Qualified to Level 2 (GCSE grade 4 or above) in English and Maths.

Qualifications
Essential
- *GCSE Grade 4 or above or Functional skills level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths
Desirable
- *Qualification in related subject e.g. Communications, Media, Graphic Design.
Experience
Essential
- *IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages or equivalent experience
- *Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality
Desirable
- *Experience of using graphic design and communications software such as Canva, Adobe, etc
- *Experience of using booking systems
- *Knowledge of data protection legislation
- *Experience in an NHS workplace
Additional Criteria

- *Good interpersonal skills
- *Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and in writing
- *Awareness and understanding of the requirement for discretion and confidentiality
- *Ability to relay correct messages but verbal and in writing
- *Ability to manage own workload and prioritise as necessary
- *Good coordination and organisation skills especially under times of high volume of workload

- *Ability to travel to all Trust hospital sites
Desirable
- *Previous experience in an environment where providing customer experience skills are required
