Business Administration Apprentice

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Practice Education are looking to recruit a business administration apprentice to support the team in the provision of a high-quality education service to the Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service and organisational skills. This role is the perfect entry point to administration within the NHS, the successful candidate will complete a fully funded Business Administration level 3 qualification alongside their role in the department. You will develop the skills required to work in an office setting, working in a friendly and supportive environment, with 1 day a week given towards academic study.

The Apprenticeship programme will be delivered by our external NHS approved training provider. You will take part in interactive workshops and be assigned a tutor to support you throughout the programme as well as receiving support from the MKUH Apprenticeship Team. You will embed your learning in your day-to-day role.

Main duties of the job

To be successful with your application, you must comply with Government funding rules that apply to all Apprenticeships. Therefore, please only apply to this post if all the following apply;

This role is a fixed term contract of 17 months. For the first 12 months of the apprenticeship, you will be paid the national apprentice wage. From month 13 to the end of contract, you will receive the national pay versus your age.

Job responsibilities

Office Administration

Competent in the use of IT, including Microsoft Packages.

Assist team members with the day to day running of the Practice Education Department.

Training Rooms

Assist with the booking of training rooms.

Assist Trust training facilitators with the setting up of training rooms and equipment.

Qualifications and knowledge

Essential

  • GCSE English & Maths at C/4 and above (or equivalent)
  • Willingness to work towards vocational level 3 as part of the apprenticeship role
  • Experience of using Microsoft office packages (Word & Excel) or comparable software
  • Understanding confidentiality

  • IT knowledge of setting up of equipment including laptops and projectors for training sessions
