Are you a compassionate and experienced administrator. If so, then your skills will be highly valued in the New Herefordshire and Worcestershire Specialist Child Death Review Nursing Service.
Working within a small nurse led nursing service and closely working with the designated Doctors for Child death review you will provide administrative support in the area of child death review for both unexpected and expected child deaths across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The service operating hours are 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.
The post is 37.5 hours per week and will be both office and home based.

Main duties of the job
To provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Specialist Child Death Review Nursing Team for all its activities and in particular reviewing all child deaths up to the age of 18 years of age in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
To provide administrative support to the Designated Specialist lead nurse and specialist Nurses for child death review.

Job responsibilities
Prepare agendas, registers, confidentiality agreements and collect materials for meetings, speeches and conferences and most importantly the Joint Agency Review meetings when there has been an unexpected death of a child.
Communicate efficiently and effectively with staff and service users, including those from other agencies, providing and receiving complex and sensitive information.
To be the first point of contact for queries from internal staff and external agencies as well as service users. Managing the Specialist child death review nursing service email inbox and responding appropriately and timely.
Appropriate handling and electronic filing of sensitive and highly confidential material, ensuring that this information is stored securely, and that client confidentiality is maintained in accordance with Information Governance guidelines.
The post holder will utilise the electronic patient record system (CareNotes/RIO), NHS spine and eCDOP as required. Ensuring that all relevant information entered/held is both accurate and up to date at all times.
The post holder will take minutes at relevant meetings, ensuring accurate and timely transcription and circulation. Ensuring that any consequent administration is dealt with and acted upon as appropriate.
Ensure emails are read and acted upon on a daily basis
Establishes and maintains various electronic filing and records management systems.

Experience
Essential
- Significant administrative/ secretarial experience including initiating and maintaining office systems.
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with the public and dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills: capable of constructing and delivering clear information/ instructions to staff and service users.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment and able to multi-task.
- Effective team working.
- Minute taking.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to academic Level 3 (e.g. A-Level, NVQ 3, OCR/RSA 3, City & Guilds 3) in a Business Administration related subject
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Knowledge
Essential
- Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
- Knowledge of NHS issues
Desirable
- Knowledge of ECDOP System.
- A demonstrable understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion with evidence of personal impact in these areas
