Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team of cardiac physiologists and Cardiographers at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
There is an 8 bedded coronary care unit, 8 bedded chest pain unit and 14 bedded cardiology ward in this busy and expanding cardiac centre. We currently have 6 interventional cardiologists and 4 non-interventional cardiologists. Outpatient services are provided from the Heart and Lung unit where we have dedicated rooms for echo, ECG's, and cardiac monitoring.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to come join our wonderful team of passionate, and innovative Cardiographers.
Main duties of the job
Ideally you will have some Healthcare experience and be looking for a new opportunity to train as a Cardiographer, although full training will be given.
As a Cardiographer you will be patient facing, performing 12 Lead ECGs on adult and paediatric patients, fitting and removing ambulatory ECG monitors, blood pressure monitors and uploading data in preparation for analysis.
We would welcome applications from candidates who are willing to complete an additional Cardiology society SCST ECG application and interpretation qualification.
About us
The team of Cardiac and Respiratory Physiologists and Cardiographers cover a comprehensive range of invasive and non-invasive procedures including ECGs, cardiac monitoring (application and analysis) exercise tolerance testing and provide monitoring in cardiac nuclear medicine tests.
There is an 8 bedded coronary care unit, 8 bedded chest pain unit and 14 bedded cardiology ward in this busy and expanding cardiac centre.
We currently have 6 interventional cardiologists and 6 non-interventional cardiologists.
As a multi-disciplinary team, we work closely with Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Specialist Registrars, specialist nursing teams and the administration team.

- Ability to record and interpret 12 lead ECGs to a very high standard on a rangeof equipment.
- Understand ECG artefact and how to minimise it.
- Care and maintenance of the ECG recorders.
- Report any equipment defects and arrange repair.
- To establish and maintain effective communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- To ensure own mandatory training certificates are current

Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Ability to learn new skills and apply theory to practice.
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable
- Experience of working in the healthcare environment
- ECG recording and interpretation experience. Conversant with full range of monitoring equipment
Qualifications and training

- Interest in working within the physiologist environment
Desirable
- GCSE or equivalent Biology/science. BLS certification
