Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic motivated individual who is capable of working in a fast paced Barista style coffee shop, duties include preparation and service of simple foods, cash handling and general cleaning, ensuring the correct and economical use of materials and equipment, ensuring quality control is upheld, completing HACCP documentation.

You must be confident in the everyday running of a busy catering environment and required to work without supervision.

Main duties of the job

  1. Being dynamic serving customers in a fast paced Barista style coffee shop.
  2. Preparing the counter for service
  3. Accurately take food orders over the counter or on the telephone
  4. Cash Handling, taking card payments and keeping accurate accounts of money transactions.
  5. Simple Food preparation such as salads and sandwiches.
  6. Preparing orders for Paninis, pizza and other hot snacks.
  7. Keeping accurate records for the HACCP Food Safety System
  8. Putting away deliveries
  9. Replenishing fridges and selves with stock, whilst making sure stock is rotated.
  10. Informing supervisor when stocks are low
  11. Delivering buffets and hospitality to areas away from the main Staff Restaurant.
  12. Clearing away dirty pots.
  13. General cleaning of service counter and restaurant areas.
  14. When required deliver food orders to the Wards.
  15. If required, cover absences.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Ability to work to deadlines and keeping calm under pressure

  • Able to communicate and engage with people

  • Cash handling experience
  • Able to work overtime at short notice
  • Able to record information accurately

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 Food Safety or catering experience within the NHS or Care Home setting
  • Allergen aware
