Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Medical Secretary position within the General Surgery Department at Tunbridge Wells Hospital

ou will have an excellent range of PA and Secretarial skills; ideally including a solid knowledge of medical terminology - though this is not essential and accurate audio typing skills.

Main duties of the job

You should be self-motivated with the ability to work in a busy and pressured environment. You should be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties.

You should also hold relevant secretarial or audio typing qualifications and have previous secretarial or PA experience. Knowledge and experience within the Health sector would be beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education
  • Secretarial and audio-word-processing qualification to at least RSA3/advanced level certificate or equivalent experience

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Previous Medical Secretarial experience
  • Significant experience of dealing with the public
  • Knowledge of PAS or similar system

Desirable

  • Medical Terminology
