Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Charites Finance Officer to join our busy Charity Finance Team.
We're excited to be recruiting for a passionate and driven Charites Finance Officer to be an integral part of a high-quality Financial Services Function.
We are looking for an individual who is an experienced, highly organised and motivated individual, who likes to work on their own but can work well as part of a team with a 'positive can-do attitude and a passion for giving back. You'll be responsible for providing financial support to the Charity Finance Team, managing your own workload and providing complex charitable information as required.
Main duties of the job
Based at Trafford General Hospital, the postholder will co-ordinate the production of information relating to the Trust's charitable funds and provide advice to the appropriate fund holders.
Produce monthly income and expenditure reports, highlighting, investigating and reporting
on budget variances/errors and making the necessary adjustments through accurate input to the financial ledger.
Dealing with complex financial queries from budget and fund holders and provide advice as required.
Complete legacy administration and liaising with executors of Wills and legacy fundraisers as required.
Support the Charities Accountant in providing relevant information for the Charity's Annual Financial Accounts and ensure VAT is dealt with in accordance with guidelines.

- AAT, NVQ4 or equivalent experience to degree level.
- Understanding of the NHS and the Trust Financial Regime.
- Knowledge of Financial Systems.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and other guidance and legislation.
- Demonstrable experience of working with a computerised accounting package
- Commitment to own personal development and that of the Team.
- Knowledge and experience of all applications found in "Microsoft Office.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Ability to analyse, investigate and resolve complex queries and discrepancies.
- Ability to implement policies for own work area and propose changes for own work area.

- Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively in both written and verbal form.
