Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Fellow in Oncology to join our team at Torbay. This post is to complement upcoming workforce changes and develop new models of care across the Peninsula. This is a 12-month fixed term position working 10PA's per week.
Main duties of the job
It is expected that the individual will join the senior medical team in running outpatient clinics, support patients having day case cancer treatment and contribute to supporting unplanned care for cancer patients with the acute oncology team.
There will be opportunities to work closely with the clinical research team offering clinical trial opportunities to our patients. The post holder will be expected to support the teaching and training of the South West peninsula medical students. This post should offer interested candidates a wider understanding of the delivery of modern day, ambulatory cancer care and an insight into how new personalised therapies are being used. The post will offer opportunities to develop new or improve existing skills in the care of cancer patients and will provide experience for candidates looking to move into fields such as oncology or general practice in the future.

Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is one of four hospitals providing non-surgical cancer treatment within Devon and Cornwall (Royal Devon University Healthcare Foundation Trust, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Foundation Trust, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.) Systemic Anti-Cancer treatment and Radiotherapy is administered in all these sites.
