Job summary

The post holder will be expected to develop knowledge and skills within the specialty and will assist in the management and delivery of compassionate, high quality patient care.

The post holder will work with nursing assistants, clerical support and support the training of student nurses and volunteers.

Demonstrates the Trust Values and Behaviours and the Trust Code of Conduct and the nursing and midwifery 6C's at all times acting in the best interests of patients and treating everyone with dignity and respect.

The post holder has a duty of care to patients and is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies in particular policies relating to personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections. Main duties of the job

We require motivated clinical support workers to work within The Clinical Decisions Unit Emergency Care Directorate at the Friarage Hospital.

The successful candidate will work within the multidisciplinary team delivering high quality care to patients admitted to the Unit.

We will require the successful candidate to work days, night's weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Knowledge and Skills - B2/3

Essential

  • Awareness of GDPR and the need for confidentiality

Desirable

  • Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
  • Working knowledge of STHFT policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING B3

Essential

  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English GCSE A-C/4-9 or Maths & English O Level/GCE A-C or Maths & English CSE Grade 1 or NARIC/ENIC which compares the qualification to UK GCSE (https://www.enic-naric.net/)
  • Care certificate
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3. oTheoretical knowledge oExperience of a range of care and related procedures oclinical observations oknowledge of relevant legislation Completion (at the point of start date or within the probationary period) of the WASP competencies and Trust face to face training session related to insulin administration, and/or oral medication administration, following the Trust approved standard operating procedure and policy.

EXPERIENCE B3

Essential

  • Experience of working in health or social care.
  • Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalation of changes or findings.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an NHS care role.
