A part-time vacancy has arisen for a Clinical Support Worker to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Gynaecology Outpatient's Team at the Friarage Hospital with cross-cover at the James Cook University Hospital as required.

The department provides clinical consultations, diagnosis and treatment. Service runs 5 days a week 08:30 - 18:00.

The Gynaecology Outpatient Departments at the Friarage Hospital and the James Cook University Hospital are very busy units providing care for patients experiencing a wide range of gynaecological conditions, including; Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Urodynamics, Urogynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology .

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in this specialty and must be committed to delivering high-quality compassionate care to women and their families.

Responsibilities would include setting up general and specialist clinics and equipment, chaperoning patients, undertaking baseline observations, venepuncture, assisting with procedures and processing specimens. A comprehensive training and competency package will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING B3

Essential

  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English GCSE A-C/4-9 or Maths & English O Level/GCE A-C or Maths & English CSE Grade 1 or NARIC/ENIC which compares the qualification to UK GCSE (https://www.enic-naric.net)
  • Care certificate
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3. - Theoretical knowledge - Experience of a range of care and related procedures - clinical observations - knowledge of relevant legislation

Knowledge and Skills - B2/3

Essential

  • Insight into behaviours and skills of a carer and the need for effective team work.
  • Awareness of GDPR and the need for confidentiality

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of STHFT policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in health or social care.
  • Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalation of changes or findings.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an NHS care role.
