Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse seeking a new opportunity We have a Community Staff Nurse position available within the team based at Wincanton District Nursing Team Our service covers the urban and rural areas of East Somerset from Wincanton and surrounding rural villages This position includes dayshifts and are usually 8am to 4pm 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm You will also work twilight shifts 2pm to 10pm and one in three weekends which include additional unsocial hours enhanced payments We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a worklife balance and parttime hours will be consideredYou'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit patients We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business which includes both mileage and depreciationIf youre a qualified RN looking for a rewarding challenge to advance your nursing career, join our friendly and highly skilled team of nurses and support staff We also welcome applications from newly qualified nurses where we can offer you preceptorship to support and guide you in your new role
Main duties of the job
As a community RN, you'll provide care to patients in their homes, managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with various other disciplines.You'll also work closely with the Hospital at Home team, focused on preventing acute admission. You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including IV medication administration, palliative and end-of-life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management.You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses.

Job responsibilities
Work closely with the Team Leader coordinating the community nursing teams off duties to meet the needs of the community nursing service/workload.
Ensuring all loans of equipment are appropriate and reviewed regularly
Working in partnership with other health care professionals and agencies
Encouraging client independence and empowerment, recognising and respecting their involvement in the planning and delivery of their care

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse
- Level One Registration with appropriate registration with the NMC as per post requirements
- Full valid Driving Licence

- Teaching/Assessing Qualification
- Previous Community Experience

- Required to develop the knowledge base in line with the KSF requirements for the post

- Experience of working in multi-agency services
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and to have undertaken post registration training
