We are currently recruiting experienced Health Care Assistants and Care Support Workers to join our dedicated team, supporting service users with spinal injuries in Milton Keynes .
Role OverviewAs a Health Care Assistant / Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering complex care to individuals with spinal injuries. You will be responsible for providing personal care, spinal and bowel care, medication support, and assistance with daily living tasks while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, empathy, and respect.
You will work closely with service users, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure individualised care plans are followed and that service users receive the support they need to maintain independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Specialist Care: Providing spinal and bowel care as per care plans (training available for the right candidate).
- Medication Support: Administering or assisting with prescribed medications following regulatory guidelines.
- Mobility Assistance: Supporting safe movement, including the use of hoists and mobility aids where required.
- Observation & Monitoring: Regularly assessing service users' conditions and reporting any health concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Household Support: Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, light housekeeping, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of care provided in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Engaging with service users to promote mental well-being, social interaction, and a positive outlook.
- Collaboration: Working effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and other team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Adherence to Health & Safety Standards: Following infection control protocols, manual handling regulations, and safeguarding policies.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or support worker role.
- Experience in spinal and bowel care (or a willingness to undergo training).
- A proactive and confident approach to care delivery.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy at all times.
- Excellent record-keeping, reliability, and punctuality .
- Up-to-date mandatory training (such as Moving & Handling, Safeguarding, First Aid, Medication Administration).
- Previous experience in homecare or complex care settings .
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).

Essential
- Minimum of 1 Year Care Experience In a healthcare, domiciliary, or complex care setting.
- Spinal and Bowel Care Experience
- Care Certificate Or equivalent basic care training
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Right to Work in the UK Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Fluent English Communication Skills Both written and verbal, for effective communication and documentation.
