Job summary
In accordance with the regulations, applicants must be eligible to work as Consultant in Child psychiatry. The post-holder should meet the requirements as noted in person specification (Appendix 1) and other employment checks. The CAMHS Service is part of the Families and Integrated Community Care Division. The Division has wide ranging responsibility within the Trust which includes community, pediatrics, midwifery, and children's universal and targeted services. The post-holder will be welcomed as a member of the CAMHS multi-disciplinary team that has excellent working relations between medical staff and team members.

We are looking for a 3.3 wte Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join an experienced clinical and management team in Blackpool Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. We would also be interested to hear from applicants such as specialty doctors who might be interested in a developmental role

Job responsibilities
Our CAMHS services in Blackpool are part of the Families Division within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which includes all hospital and community-based children's healthcare services across the area.
Blackpool CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Psychologists, Nurses, Family Therapists, Senior CAMHS Practitioners, Primary Mental Health Workers, Childrens Wellbeing Practitioners and Assistant Practitioners. We are also developing opportunities for trainees to be part of the team including FY2 doctors .The teams caseload is varied with a range of core and specialist pathways for children, young people and families.
Successful out of hours CYP MH response over the last 4 years providing community reach out groups alligned with an established psychological therapy service Youtherapy NHS provision .Working closely within a Families Division enables excellent joint working and sound pathway working and development.
We are currently in the process of implementing the THRIVE model across CAMHS in order to transform services alongside young people, parents, carers and our partner agencies. This include developing our Single Point of Access ( SPoA) and provides a unique opportunity for you to develop share your special interest and clinical leadership.
We are advertising for 3.3 full-time posts within the core CAMHS, creating an exciting opportunity to jointly develop and transform the Blackpool CAMHS service. Part time and job share applications will be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Basic medical training
- Full GMC/UK registration
- Entry on the Specialist Register
- CCT or equivalent in child psychiatry or within 6 months of obtaining
Desirable
- MRC Psych or equivalent
- Approved Clinician and Section 12 approval with child and adolescent training in both the Mental Health and the Children Acts
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Previous experience in adolescent psychiatry
- Completion of higher specialist training in child and Adolescent psychiatry
Desirable
- Experience/training in working with older adolescents
SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Assessment and management if ADHD, autism or neurodevelopmental conditions in children and adolescents
- Specific experience of working with young people with acute, severe and enduring mental illness
Desirable
- Specific family therapy group or individual therapy training and diploma
- Experience in working with young persons who misuse substances
- Experience of specific eating disorder service Work with children and young people who have been or may have been abused or perpetrated abuse
