Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Hedingham Medical Centre for an NVQ 2 or equivalent qualified dispenser to join our friendly, dedicated team in our semi-rural practice. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 16 hours per week working various shifts, mornings and afternoons, with the flexibility to cover for holiday and sickness for colleagues.

Main duties of the job

  • Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist the dispensary manager.
  • Ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription.
  • Collect all due prescription charges.
  • Answer and deal withdispensary phone enquiries.
  • Monitor patients exemption status.
  • Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication.
  • Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the dispensary manager.

Hedingham Medical Centre is situated in the picturesque villages of Castle and Sible Hedingham, we are a dispensing practice committed to providing high-quality, patient focused care to our population of 9350. Rated Good by CQC in all areas, our team is enthusiastic and motived. We plan to move to a brand-new purpose-built medical centre soon.

You will be joining our team of 3 GP partners, 6 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 5 practice nurses, 2 HCAs and our dedicated dispensary, reception and administration teams.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • You will have at least a NVQ Level 2 dispensary or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

  • Enthusiastic and well motivated.
  • Knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage but full training will be given to the right candidate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organised and work well under pressure.
