An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Division of Surgery to support the Senior Leadership Team. We are looking for an excellent communicator who is a forward thinking, positive and highly motivated individual to join the team. Full time hours available.
We are looking to recruit a well organised secretary to provide comprehensive efficient secretarial/administrative who wishes to develop their skills to support the Division.
As a key member of the Division of Surgery you will be part of an experienced and supportive team responsible for providing a first class service to the Senior Leadership Team, Consultants, Matrons, Ward Managers and other key members of the Division of Surgery.
Applicants should have a flexible approach to work with the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise work and deal with complex/sensitive issues. An understanding of information governance/confidentiality procedures and knowledge of records management processes are also important aspects of the post.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the Division of Surgery you will provide comprehensive, customer focused, administrative support.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and team working skills and have experience of supporting and encouraging others whilst working in a demanding office/customer service environment.
The successful applicant will be required to have previous secretarial experience, have the ability to take concise minutes and have an excellent working knowledge/understanding of Microsoft Office applications, including the use of databases. The successful applicant will also be required to have GCSE English Language qualification or equivalent.
The post requires excellent organisational skills, and requires the ability to work independently, frequently exercising tact, discretion, initiative, and judgement.

- Proven recent experience in a secretarial/administrative role
- Previous experience working within a busy health care environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software - Word and Excel in particular
Desirable
- Proven experience in an administrative role within a healthcare environment.
- Working knowledge a mainframe IT system

Qualifications / Training
