We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Carers to join our team and provide high-quality care to clients in their own homes across Loughton and Chigwell. Main duties of the job

  • Providing Person-Centered Care Tailoring care plans to meet individual client needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and independence.
  • Personal Care Support Assisting with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Mobility Assistance Helping with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using proper moving and handling techniques, hoists, and mobility aids.
  • Medication Administration Administering medication in accordance with care plans, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Companionship Offering emotional support and companionship, promoting client independence and mental well-being.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals Working with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

    • On Probation: £13 - £16 per hour
    • After Probation: £14 - £17 per hour

    About the Role:

    We are looking for dedicated and compassionate carers to provide domiciliary care across Loughton and Chigwell on a structured rota basis. Flexible shifts are available from Monday to Sunday , with hours ranging from 1 to 33.5 hours per week , depending on availability.

    This role involves supporting clients in their own homes with essential daily tasks, ensuring their safety, comfort, and independence. Care duties include moving and handling, personal care, medication administration, and companionship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide person-centered care tailored to individual client needs.
    • Assist with mobility, transfers, and repositioning using proper moving and handling techniques, hoists, and mobility aids.
    • Support clients with personal care, hygiene, and dressing.
    • Administer medication safely and in accordance with care plans.
    • Offer companionship and emotional support , promoting independence where possible.
    • Work closely with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best care outcomes.
    • Maintain clear and accurate care records and documentation.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in moving and handling, personal care, and medication administration.
    • Proficiency in using hoists and mobility aids (training can be provided).
    • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (preferred but not essential).
    • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

    Experience

    Essential

    • Experience in Personal Care Demonstrated experience in assisting individuals with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
    • Experience with Moving and Handling Practical experience in using moving and handling techniques, including the use of hoists and mobility aids to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
    • Experience with Medication Administration Experience in administering medication safely and following care plans to ensure clients receive the correct doses at the appropriate times.
    • Experience in Providing Companionship and Emotional Support Providing clients with companionship, emotional support, and encouraging independence and social engagement.
    • Experience in a Domiciliary Care Setting Experience in providing care within clients' homes, managing the unique challenges of delivering care in a community-based environment.
    • Experience in Working with Vulnerable Adults Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity at all times.
    • Experience with Record Keeping and Documentation Demonstrated experience in maintaining accurate care records, documenting changes in a clients condition, and following care plans.
    • Experience with Incontinence Care Experience assisting clients with incontinence care, ensuring comfort and dignity while following the necessary procedures.
    • Experience in Working with Healthcare Professionals Experience collaborating with other healthcare providers, such as nurses, doctors, and family members, to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

    Desirable

    • Experience in Complex Care Needs Experience supporting individuals with complex health conditions, such as neurological disorders, physical disabilities, or long-term illnesses.
    • Experience with Elderly Care Experience working with elderly clients, especially those with age-related conditions like dementia or mobility issues.
    • Experience in Supporting Clients with Dementia or Alzheimers Disease Knowledge of how to care for individuals with cognitive impairments, including familiarity with approaches to managing behaviours and maintaining well-being.
    • Experience with End-of-Life or Palliative Care Experience providing compassionate care for individuals nearing the end of life, focusing on comfort and dignity.
