Job summary
The post holder will work within the Aspire team but link closely with the Early Intervention Mission leadership team to develop this work. There will plenty of support throughout, in the research delivery activities, with support from the Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust (LYPFT) Research and Development Team.
A key part of the role requires that the postholder is either currently trained in or is willing to be trained in phlebotomy as blood sample collection will be routine for all study participants.
Although the main focus is on delivering the research protocol, there will also be the opportunity for some clinical work to aid embedding in the team and support the integration between clinical and research work. Inherent in this role will be the opportunity to develop research capacity and capability amongst the EIP community.
Main duties of the job
To be the responsible for promoting and embedding the research project within the wider Aspire team, the associated client base (including friends and families) and also key stakeholders, such as GPs and other healthcare providers.
Support the research project delivery by undertaking the required activities outlined in approved study documents. These include blood or saliva sample collection and cognitive assessments, measured longitudinally. Any other requirements as stipulated by the study aim.
Facilitate the informed consent process as per legislation and the Mental Capacity Act, and develop and maintain skills, experience and competence in research processes.
Provide staff and participants with information about the purpose of studies, the resources required and be a point of contact for staff involved.
Collect and maintain data and study documentation and ensure that all data collected, stored and used is done so in compliance with relevant statutory instruments, national and local guidelines and regulations. Report adverse events as per sponsor guidance.
Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care, national and local practices and policies, including a trauma informed approach.
To have a working knowledge of current principles, evidence-based practice and service provision within Early Interventions in Psychosis

7.Provide written or verbal reports regarding the progress of the research to the research team as required
8.Support the management team in the event of inspection from a regulatory and/or monitoring authority
9.To work assertively and in partnership with members of the multi-disciplinary team e.g. medical staff, psychologists, family therapist, employment specialists and support time recovery (STR) team.
10.To have a working knowledge of current principles, evidence-based practice and service provision within Early Interventions in Psychosis
11.To work within the requirements of the Mental Health Act for service users where this is applicable.
12.To ensure that client records and other information systems are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
13.To adhere to organisational policies and procedures relating to risk and personal safety.
14.To participate in Inspire Norths Personal Development Review system, regular supervision, team meetings and other meetings as required
15.Keep up-to-date with policies, guidelines, procedures and practices.
16.Represent the organisation in a knowledgeable and professional manner at all times.
17.Maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
18.Identify own training and development needs in conjunction with your line manager and LYPFT R&D department and participate in training opportunities as directed.
