What We're Looking For
  • Strong construction and infrastructure expertise, ideally within healthcare or complex public sector environments.
  • Proven experience in leading enabling works - including demolition, groundworks, utilities and site preparation.
  • Ability to manage large-scale projects, overseeing procurement, governance and commercial elements.
  • Stakeholder engagement and leadership, ensuring seamless collaboration between contractors, NHS teams and regulatory bodies.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the design, procurement, and deliveryof all enabling worksfor the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme.
  • Ensure all contracts, budgets, and risk management plansalign with NHS and government frameworks.
  • Develop and implement governance structures, providing assurance to NHS England, the New Hospital Programme (NHP), and HM Treasury.
  • Manage programme teams and external contractors, ensuring successful delivery of pre-construction infrastructure projects.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner Level.
  • HM Treasury Better Business case training.

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Qualification
  • Construction qualification.
  • Membership of relevant professional body or chartered status.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience within the Healthcare sector at senior manager level including responsibility for strategic projects and programmes of change.
  • Experience of leading and managing programmes, with considerable experience managing large capital schemes in the healthcare sector
  • Experience of business case development for large or complex capital projects and of the work streams including Clinical Strategy, Workforce, IT and Estates.

Desirable

  • Proven track record of delivering to challenging targets
  • Considerable project management experience of large capital schemes in the healthcare sector
